I’m Shane Yorke, founder of CaliDOMESTIQUE, a cycling content brand focused on road, gravel, mountain biking, racing, gear, and the lifestyle that surrounds cycling.
Cycling has had a pretty significant impact on my life. In fact, I met my wife through cycling and the Strava app. What started with a shared passion for riding eventually became a life together, and cycling remains a huge part of our story.
I’m also a racer with the LAPD Cycling Team and have had the opportunity to represent the Sea Otter Classic as an ambassador. Between racing, creating content, testing equipment, and exploring new places by bike, I’m constantly finding new reasons to ride.
Why I Ride
I love the freedom and adventure that comes with cycling. A familiar road looks completely different from the saddle, and there’s always another climb, gravel road, race, or destination waiting to be explored.
I also love the community. Cycling has introduced me to some incredible people and given me experiences I never would have had otherwise.
Why Bryton
As someone who races, explores new routes, and creates cycling content, I rely heavily on technology that can keep up with me.
My Bryton Rider S810 has quickly become one of those essential pieces of equipment. My favorite features are the amazing battery life, the ability to create and follow turn-by-turn navigation routes, and the upcoming Hill Climb feature, which I’m especially excited to put to the test.
The navigation has been particularly useful when I’m exploring unfamiliar roads and gravel routes. I can build a route, load it onto the S810, and focus on the ride rather than constantly worrying about where I’m going.
And for someone who spends a lot of time riding and racing, battery life matters. The S810 gives me the confidence to head out for long days on the bike without constantly thinking about whether my computer is going to make it to the finish.
I’m excited to keep putting the S810 through its paces, especially as new features like Hill Climb roll out.
Ultimately, cycling has given me adventures, friendships, a career, and even my wife. I’m looking forward to continuing that journey with CaliDOMESTIQUE, the LAPD Cycling Team, and the Bryton community.
